Discipleship Groups

There are various groups that meet in people's homes for Bible study, prayer and fellowship, either in the evening or during the day.  We try to follow the model for discipleship set out in the Acts of the Apostles, chapter 2 vv42-47.  We meet together for fellowship, worship, prayer and service.  These sessions give us the chance to explore our faith in greater depth and find support for our daily lives.  We regularly offer a Confirmation course for those who haven't been confirmed.  Contact us at info@stjohnserith.org for more details.

Prayer group

We believe prayer is one of the most important things we do as Christians.  This group meets during Holy Communion and is ready to pray with you at any time just contact a member or email us on the email below. This is a vital part of our church life.  For more information, or to request prayer, contact us at prayer.requests@stjohnserith.org

Open Church

On Wednesday mornings during the summer months, the Church is open between 11am and 1pm for private prayer, or for those who just want to walk around the beautiful church building.  A team of people is on hand to welcome anyone who wishes to come along.

Bellringing

St John's has 8 bells in its tower, some of which are now very old, and our team of Bellringers takes great pleasure in ringing them on Sunday mornings and for festivals.  The team meet on the 1st Wednesday evening and the 2nd, 3rd and 4th thursday at 8pm.  If you would be interested in learning to ring, email us at bellringing@stjohnserith.org

Cinema club

We have recently set up a cinema club, for those who like a good film.  We aim to go out about once a month.
